Mobile homes located in parks will not necessarily hold their value since the land underneath them is rented while mobiles on private land generally will see some increase in value especially if the home is well maintained.

Which ever option you choose however you will have a home for the fraction of the cost of a mortgage with a lower tax base than a stick built home and with the money you save you can afford the lifestyle you want to live.
